The fine print
Privacy Policy
Pawloma is run by Paloma Collective Pty Ltd from Maitland, NSW. We look after pets, and we look after your information the same way — carefully, and only for as long as we actually need it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
- Your details: name, email, phone number and suburb when you apply for care, book Wedding VIP, contact us or join the Pawloma Family.
- Your pet's details: breed, age, personality, routine, feeding, behaviour, health and vet information — everything we need to keep them safe.
- Emergency and vet contacts you give us for your pet's care.
- Booking and account information: dates, services, notes, referral activity and your login details if you have a Pawloma Family account.
- Quiz and signup information: the answers and email you give us for Pawfect Match or our mailing list.
- Basic technical information your browser sends when you visit, used to keep the site working and secure.
Why we collect it
To assess applications, provide and coordinate care, contact you about your pet or booking, send confirmations and updates, run the Pawloma Family and referral program, keep our records straight, and — only if you've ticked the box — send you Pawloma news. We never sell your information, and we don't use your pet's details for anything other than caring for them.
Photos of your pet
We take a lot of photos — it's half the fun. Photos and updates of your pet are always shared with you. We only publish a photo of your pet on our website or social channels with your permission, and you can ask us to take one down at any time by emailing hello@pawloma.com.au.
Who else sees it
Only the people and services that make Pawloma work: our website and database hosting, our email delivery provider, and calendar scheduling. If your pet needs treatment we may share what a vet needs to know. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, and we choose providers that are required to protect it to a comparable standard.
Keeping it safe
Your information is held in access-controlled systems, and only Pawloma staff who need it can see it. We keep records while you're a Pawloma client and for as long afterwards as we're required to, then delete or de-identify them. No system is perfect, but if something ever went wrong we'd tell you promptly.
Marketing and unsubscribing
Marketing emails only go to people who opted in, and every one of them has an unsubscribe link. Booking, application and account emails aren't marketing — we'll still send those while you're using Pawloma.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your marketing consent, or ask us to delete what we're not legally required to keep. Email hello@pawloma.com.au and we'll sort it out. If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If this policy changes, the updated version will always live on this page.
